Renewable energy resources PDF Tisk Email
The topic of our project is “The renewable sources of energy in our regions“. Our goal was to sum up the advantages and disadvantages of the use of the renewable sources and thanks to the EEA/Norwegian Financial Mechanisms grant we could visit Norway to learn about the use of renewable sources in this country.

We cooperated with 3 other schools:

SPŠ J.H. Pestalozziho, Litoměřice, CR

Fagerlia videregaende skole, Norway

Molde videregaende skole, Norway

There were 28 students and 2 teachers of our school, Gymnázium Josefa Jungmanna, Litoměřice, involved in this project. The students were divided into several groups. Each group had to prepare a presentation on one of these topics:

  1. Solar panels

  2. Geothermal well

  3. EU and its support in this area

  4. Advantages and disadvantages of renewable sources of energy

Before we left to Norway, the students had to gather all the needed information and made some excursions (e.g. they went to Habrová to meet the owner of the solar panels who told them how the system worked and some of the students visited the geothermal well in Litoměřice, where they discussed tho topic with one of the engineers).

On 14 October we finally arrived at Alesund, Norway, to visit our Norwegian friends. During our stay in Norway our students presented what they had found out about the use of the renewable sources of energy in our region to their Norwegian friends and after their presentations there was held a discussion about the topic. Students compared our countries and we could realize how differently we feel about renewable sources of energy. While the Czech people take it as something brand-new and modern to talk about, the Norwegians tend to take it more natural, as a part of their everyday life.

The project has been highly beneficial for all the participants. They had the possibility to improve their communicative, organizing and other needed skills. They also could learn more about /from other cultures.

The international projects have had a long tradition at our school. Unfortunately, the students usually have to pay for all the travelling costs themselves which is a problem for students with worse financial background. But this time, thanks to EEA/Norwegian Financial Mechanisms, any of them could take part.
